"Rebekah pretends to offer a gift to Elena, knowing full well how painful it would be to hear that someone you truly loved would have no memory of your time together. And here is where I lose any amount of lingering respect I may have had for Stefan Salvatore. He says yes. He asks for it, no begs for it, like the coward he is. And it is pure cowardice on a level I have never seen on this show, including by those who have screamed and pleaded for their lives. As a million people have remarked upon, when Elena chose Stefan, Damon put aside his hurt and stayed to try to make her life better. He lived with the knowledge that the woman he loved more than his own life was not his. He swallowed his pride and his emotions to try to do what was best for her. For her happiness and not his own. That level of unselfishness is something I would never be able to attain. When Elena chooses Damon, Stefan firmly raises his middle finger to her and wants nothing more to ever do with her again. That is the act of a spoiled child who didn’t get his way. And he knows he is hurting her by saying this. It actually fuels him on, seeing the pain in her face. That is no kind of love I would ever want directed at me. It is shallow, selfish, cruel, and provisional. I will love you as long as I get what I want and fuck what your needs are. Disgusting."
